BRTC Gold Caviar And Jasmine BB Creams Review:

BRTC Gold Caviar And Jasmine BB Creams Review:

I’ve had the pleasure of teaming up with BRTC Store to do a review on two of their BB Creams, and if you’ve read my past review on BB Creams you would know its several products in one. BB Cream stands for Blemish Balm Cream and or Beauty Balm Cream and is pretty much the end all of foundation, concealer, moisturizer and SPF. It’s a combined product that eliminates many products from your daily makeup routine and not only simplifies foundation but also offers key ingredients that we all look for in makeup and skin care. It’s like 4 products in 1.

I’ve tested out a Canadian brand of BB Cream and although I was pretty happy with it I heard the Korea ones were much better, probably because that’s where they originated from? The craze was born in Korea back in 2005 when German dermatologists wanted to help patients who had gone through laser skin surgery and wanted to soothe and regenerate their skin tissue.

First up is the Gold Caviar BB Cream (found in picture above) with a SPF of 50 which is very high for a BB Cream, I didn’t have to apply my SPF before using it, which not only saved me time but money as well. I also used it in replacement of my day cream as it’s very moisturizing on my skin; it looks almost wet when I first put in on my face.

You only have to use a dime size amount to cover your full face, you can always add more later if you’re looking for more of a full coverage look. I would rate this as a medium to full coverage which I love, plus you’re getting some anti-aging benefits as well.

The colour is more of a medium shade, which is perfect for us Canadians that see a little more sunlight that we probably should in the summer. It adds a nice sun kissed glow to the face without having to add a bronzer over top.

I just used my fingers to apply it, as if you were just applying face cream or SPF. I’m sure you could also use a foundation brush, but since the whole idea behind BB Cream is for a quicker application and less steps, I thought the fingers were just fine, plus it warms up the BB cream for easier application.

How did it work for me?

It for sure is super light weight, like I’m not wearing make-up at all. It’s more of a natural look but the light reflecting pigments give your skin a natural glow and its oil free. It did help to minimize the appearance of imperfections and some acne, but not as much as a full coverage foundation would. I think this is great if you’re just running to the store or the beach and want to have some coverage. It did help to even out my skin tone and helped to control shine (in my T-Zone). Not sure if it was in my head or not, but it did seem to sooth and calm my skin in the heat. It kept my skin super hydrated for at least 15 hours, compared to my normal foundation that I need to spray Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray at least a few times a day. This will be my go-to from now one when looking for a more natural look.

I also got to test out their most popular Jasmine BB Cream, probably because of its triple function which means not only does it give you great coverage on your face and a SPF but it also has extra benefits like whitening, water replenishment and wrinkle repair.

Now before you freak out when it says whitening it does not mean it’s going to bleach you skin, it just means it will help to even out your skin tone, helps with dark skin pigmentation from sun damage, pregnancy or acne. It’s also great for aging skin and even more amazing for dry skin like mine because of the water replenishment in it.

When I used it on my face I saw little water droplets form on the skin, my face actually felt a little wet which means its super moisturizing and the more I rubbed it in, the more little water droplets were released. It’s a light to medium coverage (a little less than the Gold Caviar) and has a SPF of 30. I was in love with the jasmine scent and some say it’s a stress reducer as well as it may just lower ones heart rate by putting you in a more calmer mood? Either way I did feel a little more relaxed after apply this BB cream, maybe because I did save myself 3 extra steps in the morning, we all like that!

If you would like to order your very own BB Cream (they have about 5 different ones to pick from) check out BRTC online.
