Blooming floral designs fit just about any warm weather occasion, but can you transition this print into fall? One of the main questions I still get asked on this fashion blog is, can you wear floral in the fall? Simple answer is… yes! Summer is far from finished here in Ontario, with temperatures reaching mid-teens to low 20’s these past few weeks, so although most stores have begun stocking their shelves with cozy fall clothing, a lot of us are just trying to hold on to summer. That being said, fashion addicts alike are flocking to the florals and you’re going to be seeing a lot of this pretty print in the months so come. Much to the relief of those holding onto warm summer days, like myself, you can rest a sure that floral prints will be everywhere this season.
Rocking an autumn floral is totally different than dressing in playful, breezy, light pale floral summer prints, so if you dare to wear florals in the fall, look for slightly richer, warmer hues in shades of burgundy, burnt orange, navy blue and rich plum. The key is to utilize the correct colour palette, paired with the correct fabric, pattern and weight. Accessories with faux furs and leather, fall booties and over-size handbags to transform your summer look into the perefct fall ensemble.
