L’Occitane En Provence Unveiling the Holidays 2013 Collection Event

As few weeks ago I had the honor of attending L’Occitane En Provence Unveiling the Holidays 2013 Collection Event at the Rosewater Room in Toronto. The collection was inspired by the countryside of Grasse, the world’s capital of perfumery and is a follow up to L’Occitane En Provence last Grasse fragrance collection featuring 2 new fragrances, for both men and women, and is perfect for the holiday season. L’Occitane’s private perfumer, Karine Dubreuil, created Un Noël à Grasse U Fleur D’Or & Acacia (for women) and Cèdre & Oranger (for men) which was inspired by Christmas time in Provence.

From the moment you stepped into the room, you felt like you were in a small town in Provence, from the snow machine, to the scent of musky floral and woody citrus, to the golden flowers, evergreen trees and silver decorations, to the fresh oranges and the scent of cèdre, the perfect holiday atmosphere and had me wishing for winter festivities.

We got to learn about the 2 new scents for this holiday season with the first being for men, and my personal favourite, L’Occitane En Provence Cèdre & Oranger and came at the perfect time in gathers the first fruits of the year, the bergamot and oranges from Italy (who knew oranges grew in the winter months)? Mischievous orange, still tinged with green, awakens an accord that would be dominated by woody notes of Virginian cedar – were it not for the presence of fruit. The surge of citrus is immediately softened by sweet scents of musk. Raw materials include Virginian cedarwood oil and Italian orange essence and is part of the Citrus Woody family.

The Eau de Toilette retails for $75 for 75ml and to complement the perfume you might also want to pick up the After Shave Balm for $36 for 75ml, Hair & Body Shower Gel $20 for 175ml and Perfumed Soap $6 for 50g.

L’Occitane En Provence Fleur D’Or & Acacia for women features Mimosa that brings a natural, tender touch to make this scent almost addictive. An accord of mimosa absolute and acacia evokes that moment when the first trees come into blossom, and that orange glow of the December light. The tender and enveloping repertoire conjures up sweet memories within the sensual depths of musk and white wood. Raw materials include mimosa absolute from Grasse and acacia from the Mediterranean Basin and is part of the Musky Floral family.

The Eau de Toilette retails for $75 or 75ml but why not pick up the Body Milk for $24 for 175ml, Shimmering Shower Gel for $20 for 175ml, Hand Cream $12 for 30ml, Sparkling Lip Gloss $18 for 15ml and Perfumed Soap for $6 for 50g.
