Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara Review

Fake Vs Falsies

I have to admit, I hardly ever purchase high end mascara. Sure, I have a few favourites that I save for special occasions, but I just don’t see the need for it. The world of drugstore mascaras has come a long way in the past few years, and sometimes even more innovated than higher end brands. Maybelline is always on the cutting edge of cosmetics and this season they want to help you put away your false lashes, but still have long, thick and intense lashes.

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara will help you make a dramatic entrance this season thanks to its new brush technology. The bristles feature a new shape and design that help to retain the ideal amount of mascara inside its reservoir to provide maximum benefits. It has the perfect amount of bristles and a “wiper” wand that helps to brush, deposit, curl and separate each lash.

At first, I thought the Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara was a dual ended product, a primer and mascara pair, due to its unique barrel shape design that has a slightly larger top than its skinnier bottom. It’s pink, red and black colour design also threw me for a loop, but it’s actually just it’s innovate brush and formula that makes it so unique. Adhesive polymers and soft waxes, paired with its u-shape bristles gives this mascara big volume with a lightweight feel.

Although Maybelline suggested sweeping The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara from root to tip until your desired lift and volume is achieved, I find the traditional wiggling motion works just as good. You can use the tip of the brush to reach the outer and inner corners beautifully and it also applies seamlessly to the bottom lashes without the fear of smudging. It’s spiky bristles and push-up cup design scoops the lashes up at the root and pulls them forward almost instantly for mega volume and length. It has a creamy, not too wet, nor too dry, formula that doesn’t dry too quickly, allowing you enough time in between coats to apply several coats if need be. Once set and dry, it stays put the entire day. It doesn’t smudge, flake or budge the entire day and you’ll need a decent eye makeup remover to remove it at the end of the day.

I’ve said it over and over again, but I can’t apply false lashes to save my life. That being said, I still love the look of bold, dramatic, intense and seductive lashes, but don’t have time to fuss with falsies on a daily basis. The Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara provides the best of both worlds, the look of fake lashes, with the ease of mascara in a few single swipes. Its unique u-shape design helps to perfectly lift the lashes for added volume, separating each individual lash for a clump-free look and grab onto each lash for amazing length and curl. I love that is does all 4 of my favourite things in a mascara without leaving my lashes hard, stiff or crunchy. My lashes are left incredibly soft, manageable and clump-free.
