Nadège

Nadège

For those living in Toronto, you’re probably already familiar with Nadège, it’s been around since the summer of 2009 and is one of the hottest places to indulge in the city. With its 2 locations, one at 780 Queen St. West and the other at 1099 Yonge St, Torontonians have no problem getting their hands on the yummiest macarons around and it wasn’t until this month that they started shipping nation-wide so all Canadians can have a little taste of heaven.

Nadège is a place where your senses are tickled by excellence and combining the art of French pastry with fresh, modern panache, their exquisite decadent treats will tempt you back for more and is just one of the reasons why Nadège is viewed as a game changer in the Toronto pastry scene.

I’ve just come to learn about Nadège macarons and its too good not to share.

Nadège was sweet enough to send me a pack of their famous macarons and talk about fast shipping, I ordered it late Thursday evening and they arrived on my doorstep first thing Friday morning; just in time for the weekend. The packaging is worth the price alone, it comes in a stunning hot pink box with 16 macarons inside that’s safely covered to keep them extra fresh. It’s said that you can keep them in the fridge for up to 4 days, taking them out about 30 minutes before you want to eat them, but who’s kidding who, are they really going to last that long?

Once inside the box, you’ll soon realize why these are the number 1 macarons in Toronto. In an arrange of flavors, and about 2 inches in diameter, these have a light, yet crunchy almond meringue shell that melts in your mouth, followed by a layer of flavoured buttercream, ganache or jam filling that keeps you coming back for more. Maybe it wasn’t the smartest thing to start eating on an empty stomach, they’re like chips… I bet you can’t eat just one?

In the box of 16 you’ll get 2 Salted Caramel, 2 Iranian Pistachio, 2 Vanilla, 2 Chocolate 70%, 2 Blackberry Chocolate, a Cherry Chocolate, a Mojito, a Matcha Green Tea, a Cappuccino, a Rose and a Cotton Candy. I really wish I could tell you my favourite, but it was like each one was better than the next, but if I had to pick only one, it would have to be the Salted Caramel.

How perfect would these be when enjoying an afternoon of sitting by the fire sipping tea, they would make a wonderful treat for any holiday party or event you may be hosting this season, they make a perfect hostess gift or holiday present, perfect for an after dinner treat, anyway you choose to enjoy or gifted these, you really can’t go wrong with these colourful, delicious, savoury treats.

Hope you enjoy, if you order some, I’d love to hear your favourite!
