Vichy Aqualia Thermal Boosting Essence Water Review

Cosmetic water

We all know the importance of drinking plenty of water and incorporating hydrating food into your diet to not only help eliminate waste and toxins, but to keep our skin healthy and glowing. Sometimes this isn’t enough and we rely on beauty products for that added boost of hydration. Cosmetic waters have been extremely popular in Asia for years, as it helps to hydrate the skin and keep it looking plump and juicy. It’s slowing starting to make its way into the North America market and Vichy has jumped on this beauty trend with a new skincare routine that will help you optimize efficiency. The new Vichy Aqualia Thermal Boosting Essence Water will be your first step in your moisturizing routine and will help to leave your skin more receptive to the products you apply overtop.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Boosting Essence Water has a slightly lighter than a serum or cream consistency, with an almost milky-like texture that once in contact with the skin, turns into a liquidy formula. It sinks into the skin fairly quickly and absorbs deep into the skin to instantly help replace moisture loss that may have been stripped from the skin during your cleansing process. It’s formulated with active ingredients and hyaluronic acid to help keep skin moisturized the entire day. It has the same spa-like scent as the rest of the Aqualia Thermal collection, extremely light, airy and refreshing.

At first I thought Vichy Aqualia Thermal Boosting Essence Water was going to be like your typical toner, but boy was I wrong. It’s so much more than that. It has almost the same rich and creamy consistency as your favourite serum, which applies easily and smoothly to the skin, but provides so much more hydration than your average toner. It’s suggested to add a few drops to a cotton pad, but I find you end up wasting so much product this way. I actually just add a few drops to the palm of my hands and rub into my skin. Since it has a slightly thicker texture than a toner, it won’t slide right through your fingers. It instantly helps to soothe and calm the skin, reducing redness, irritation and dryness, while adding hydration and a slight cooling effect to the skin. It’s extremely refreshing first thing in the morning and actually helps your daily moisturizer sink into the skin better. It retails for $29.95 for 200ml.

This was recommended to me by a beauty expert at Shopper’s. I absolutely love it and have used it twice a day for the last year. I have very sensitive skin on my face and it does not affect it at all. It goes on great, very smooth, does not have a sticky finish, and my serum and night/day cream goes on great afterwards. Definitely recommend it.
