August 10th, 2013- Purseaholic

Being a Purseaholic and owning my own business selling designer handbags, you can say I probably have too many, if there is such a thing? When I’m not keeping handbags from my own business, I do tend to invest in a good quality, designer handbag from time to time. I feel that since I use them at least once a week and tend to keep my purses longer than I do clothing, I can justify spending the money on them.

I just invested in a new teal Rebecca Minkoff purse that now has a new home in my collection that I’ll love for years to come, and although I adore it and was thinking about getting the black version, I just couldn’t bring myself to spend another $200+ on it.

I’m not a fan of those knockoff Chanel and Coach purses, nothing special to them and everyone knows their fake; I suggest either saving up for one or buy another style that you can afford, now that being said, when I saw this “inspired” Rebecca Minkoff purse at Smart Set, I knew I had to have it. It’s not claiming to be a Rebecca Minkoff, no fake labels or logos saying it is one, just similar in style and for $29, how can you go wrong?

What do we think about fake purses?

  1. I used to have a closet full of knock off purses which I picked up on my travels around the world everywhere from China to Vietnam, but the day I stepped in to Louis Vuitton on 5th Ave and slung a real LV monogram classic Speedy on my arm that all changed!!! At that moment I realized how tacky and cheap knock offs looked. I decided then and there I deserved the quality and beauty of the real thing! As the owner of a LV Speedy I can now spot a fake LV a mile away, there are so many details on the real thing only an owner of one would notice even on the best of fakes! As a frequent traveller I bought my LV not only to use as an everyday purse but also to use as the perfect travel bag (I bought the model with the cross body strap, essential when travelling and shopping when free hands are needed!). I have seen many, many well weathered LV’s on the arms of travellers in airports all over the world and am assured I have made a wise purchase which will stand the test of time on many journeys to come and at the same time will always remain in style no matter what the latest trends may be. Although the cost of this bag was an amount I won’t even repeat allowed so it seems less real that I actually spent such an insane amount on a bag I have come to the understanding it is much more then a bag! I use my LV everyday and although it may sound silly it brings a smile of luxuries pleasure to my face every morning as I put it on my arm and head out the door! My closet is now empty of fake purses and I can assure you, you will never spot me with a fake!
