Avène Eau Thermale Collection Review

Hydrate with Avène

I think I’ve talked about it a million times on my blog, my skin has been extremely dry this year. Maybe is the environment, maybe it’s hormonal or maybe it just comes with age, but no matter which products I use, how much water I consume, or how hydrated I think my skin may be, nothing seems to help/ work. After doing a little research online and hearing nothing but amazing things about the Avène Eau Thermale Collection, I knew I had to put it to the test. I’ve been using Avène Hydrance Optimale Riche Hydrating Cream in the morning, Avène Compensating Nutritive Cream in the evening, followed by Avène D-Pigment Light in the evening to help lighten up dark spots and unevenness to the skin.
Avène

Avène Compensating Nutritive Cream is designed to nourish and moisturize the skin thanks to its unique trio of lipids that strengthen and restore an effective barrier against dehydration. It also contains vitamins C and E to help protect skin against environmental aggression. It also soothes and hydrates extremely dry skin thanks to its iconic Avène Thermal Spring Water.
Avène Compensating Nutritive Cream

Avène Compensating Nutritive Cream comes in a glass jar with spatula for easy application and to keep dirt, germs and oils out. It has an extremely rich and creamy texture that’s lightweight and almost melts into the skin. It intensely moisturizes the skin and protects it from external factors, without being too heavy. It deeply replenishes loss of moisture and helps to plump up the skin.
Avène Compensating Nutritive Cream

Avène Compensating Nutritive Cream is the perfect daytime moisturizer as it absorbs into the skin almost instantly, so I’m able to apply my foundation immediately. It helps to rejuvenate the appearance of dry and dull skin, for a fresher face in the morning. It applies evenly and smoothly, covers my entire face with only a dime size amount and doesn’t feel greasy or sticky. My skin is left feeling soft, smooth and supple and ready to take on the day. It helps replenish moisturize loss and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day, without feeling tight or dry. It gives a somewhat radiant glow. It cleared up any dry areas, patchiness and flakiness around my nose within a few short weeks. My skin is looking extremely healthier and my makeup is applying much easier. It retails for $50 for 50ml.

Avène Hydrance Optimale Riche Hydrating Cream provides long-lasting hydration and helps to nourish the skin thanks to its enriched shea butter formula. It offers instant comfort, by soothing and softening the skin thanks to Avène Thermal Spring Water.

Avène Hydrance Optimale Riche Hydrating Cream comes in a white squeeze tube with a slightly thicker and creamier texture than the Avène Compensating Nutritive Cream, which is why it is best suited for the evening. It’s smooth and soft once applied to the skin, but it does take a few minutes to fully absorb. Not a problem, since I’ve been applying it before bed, and is also never feels heavy or sticky once applied. Skin is left dewy, without looking oily, and it helps the general clarity and evenness of the skin. It’s hydrating, moisturizing and all and all, an excellent nighttime moisturizer.
Avène Hydrance Optimale Riche Hydrating Cream

Avène Hydrance Optimale Riche Hydrating Cream gives a slight plumping effect to the skin because of its extremely hydration and intensely moisturizing formula. Although it has a thicker texture, it still absorbs fairly quickly into the skin. My skin is starting to feel firmer and a lot smoother and it actually seems to help blur imperfections for a more even surface in the morning. Not only does my skin feel incredibly soft and smooth, it seems to give a slight brightness and illuminating effect to my dull complexion. It retails for $37.50 for 40ml.

Avène D-Pigment Light is designed to help reduce localized or extended brown spots and help prevent the development of new pigmentation spots, while evening out the complexion. It’s formulated with a unique blend of 3 active ingredients, Melanyde, a depigmenting ingredient to help slow down the production of pigmentations, Retinaldehyde, a brightening ingredient to help eliminate excess melanin in the skin and Pre-tocopheryl, natural vitamin E derivative, an antioxidant and precursor of vitamin E, to protect the skin from free radicals. It also contains Avène Thermal Spring Water to help soothe and soften the skin.

Avène D-Pigment Light comes in a sleek, white squeeze tube with a tiny nozzle to help control the amount of product being distributed onto the skin. It’s to be used only at night and applied only to the areas of the skin that need treated. It has an extremely lightweight, slightly yellow, rich and creamy texture that applies to the skin with ease and blends in beautifully. You only need the smallest amount, it absorbs almost instantly and has absolutely no smell.
Avène D-Pigment Light

Avène D-Pigment Light is perfect for my extremely dry, prone to breakout skin, as its weightless formula doesn’t clog pores, which in return can cause blemishes. Of course, like all skin lightening products, it’s extremely important to wear a high SPF when out in the sun, as your skin is more sensitive to light and can cause future damage. While I don’t think this will help with severe acne scars or deep pigmentation, this has however, already lightened up some of my sun spots in a few shorts weeks. I’ve noticed considerable improvement in my skin’s overall texture and smoothness. It’s also helped to even out my skin tone and I’ve found I’ve been using less concealer on the dark spots I do have. It has definitely lightened them, where just my everyday foundation will conceal them. It retails for $50 for 30ml.
