If its rose gold, I want it, if it’s a Benefit boxed powder, I want it, so I’m not too sure why it took me so long to get my hands on Benefits newest boxed powder, Rockateur? It’s not too often Benefit releases new ones, this is only their 7th in the collection, so when they do, I get pretty excited. Benefit Rockateuris the most beautiful rose gold blush and highlighter with a soft shimmery finish that I’ve ever laid my eyes on. It features a brand new Prisma Technology that combines all the best features of baked, powder, cream and liquid blush to create a brighter, more pigmented, truer colour payoff than before.
Benefit Rockateur comes in a lace and croc pattern box with flip, magnetic closure lid, small mirror on the inside lid and mini brush for easy application. This baked formula has a soft, silky, velvety texture with a frosty gold overspray that disappears after one or two swipes to reveal a finely milled shimmery rose gold blush underneath. It’s fairly pigmented, it does start off quite sheer but is very buildable, up to medium coverage that blends into the skin beautifully. It lasts about 6 to 8 hours before fading and provides a healthy rosie glow to the cheeks without it being too sparkly. It has a light, rosy scent to it that isn’t too noticeable once applied to the skin.

Benefit Rockateur is by far my favourite Benefit boxed powder, I didn’t even want to use at first cause of the beautiful embossed lettering and 3D design. I was a little hesitant when I saw how shimmery it was, glitter and simmer has a tendency to make the pores on the cheeks look bigger, but this wasn’t the case with this blush, it’s just the right amount of shimmer to give a healthy glow. It has the perfect mix of shades in warm dusty rose with hints of pink, peach and coral undertones and shimmery gold overlay. It’s creamy smooth, easily buildable to intensify the colour and blends in beautifully to give a provocative flush of colour to the cheek that will go with any makeup look you’re creating that day. You can keep it very natural and quite shier for a light flush of colour or layer it on gradually for a more dramatic radiant glow. It retails for $36.
