Coral and Lavender

Steed & Company Lavender Farm

Derek and I spent the day in the country and our first stop, Steed & Company Lavender Farm. I’ve always been obsessed with lavender, but breathing in rows and rows of it, is an experience on its own. Although we mostly recognize lavender for its intoxicating and relaxing properties, it also offers healing properties when used in bathing and cooking. Lavender essential oils are not only therapeutic, but can heal wounds and burns. Did you know it can also be used to ease insect bites, treat lice and repel insects? Derek and I actually have a mini lavender bush in our garden and it’s the only thing we’ve managed not to kill. Each season it becomes larger and stronger in scent. It’s the perfect scent to wake up to. I’m always out picking fresh lavender from our garden as it’s an excellent way to induce sleep, ease stress and sometimes even helping with my headaches and migraines. Looking for something to do this summer, escape to a day out in the country and surrounded yourself with the sweet aroma of lavender at Steed & Company Lavender Farm in Aylmer.

Stunning photos Amber! We have discovered a Lavender farm exists in Prince Edward County and plan to visit soon! However, hubby may find me fast asleep in the field :)
