December 23rd, 2013- Caffeine Withdraw

I don’t think this weather could be any more depressing, does it want to snow, does it want to rain, will the sun ever come out again, could it be any more windy….. thought I would dress the way I feel today, dark, dull and sad. I’ve been fighting the worst headache ever for the past 5 days now, could be the weather or it could be the fact I’m trying to cut down on my caffeine intake. I use to have about 5 coffees a week and about 2 pops a day, I’ve now cut it down to a half a coke a day. Maybe a little caffeine withdraw happening, either way, I want to die. Anyone else trying to cut out caffeine in their life, or have already, have any tricks on getting through the next few weeks?

I still needed a little colour in my life today, to I put on this bold, neon yellow necklace from Very Valero, added a little happiness to my otherwise boring day.

I find if I don’t have a tea in the morning, I end up with a huge headache. I can’t imagine what it must be like to cut so much caffeine out so quickly! Maybe gradally cutting down would help the headaches?

I’m happy to report headaches are gone, so it was either the weather or the caffeine withdraws haha, either way, back to my normal self, yahoo!

PS: did you get hit with the storm this weekend…from your post it sounds like you may have fared okay? We just got a lot of snow up this way (only a very small amount of freezing rain). The photos I am seeing from the GTA have been pretty crazy – so much freezing rain!

I am allergic to caffeine (it gives me migraines) so I only drink decaff occasionally. What I’ve heard that is very helpful for cutting back on caffeine is to start taking a vitamin B supplement. The best way to take it is in liquid form as it absorbs into the system better. I use Liquick’s in Cherry flavour. Not the best tasting but it works for my energy levels. Hope this helps and you are feeling better soon! xo

I used to help people with headaches. For example one person only had headaches around the holidays, starting in the afternoon. They figured it was stress.

What they didn’t realize is that citrus can trigger (or extend) headaches, and they only really had oranges around the holidays, and took a holiday orange in their lunch to work. So watch out for foods like citrus, and corn. Many people don’t realize those are two of the lesser known foods to watch out for.
