How to Increase Your Daily Water Intake

boxed water is better

We’ve heard it time and time again, drink more water. Whether it’s to improve our health, fitness, weight control, energy level or even our mood, the more water we consume the less harder our bodies have to work. Since our body is made up of over 60% water already, staying hydrated at all times allows our bodies to run more smoothly. It helps to maintain the correct body temperature, assist in digestion, help blood circulation and even helps transport nutrients throughout your entire body more efficiently. A few short weeks ago, Derek and I became vegetarians, in hopes of leading a healthier lifestyle. We’re now more aware of what we put into our bodies and trying to also up our water game to flush out toxins and up our energy level.

First thing we did, we took to the internet to find out just how much water we should be consuming daily. After hours of research we’ve learned that it’s recommended you intake at least 8 x 8 ounces of water daily (or about 2L) to stay fully hydrated. I’m a firm believer in making healthy options fun and exciting, along with keeping track of how much you consume in a day. I absolutely hate the taste of tap water, therefore forcing me to buy bottle water. My main concern has always been how many plastic water bottles are hitting the landfills each year because of this. This is where Boxed Water comes into play.

Boxed Water is changing the way we look at water, one box at a time. Its triple filtered for purity using reverse osmosis, carbon filtration and UV systems and 74% of the box is made from paper that comes from well-managed forests. Not only does this help provide it with an incredibly refreshing, crisp, smooth taste, perfect for hot, sunny days, it’s consciously packaged, making it environmental friendly and your perfect hydration solution. It’s made with thin foil barrier to provide freshness and HDPE for both the waterproof liner and cap, ensuring it’s recyclable and BPA free. I love that you don’t get that fake, unnatural and plastic-y taste that you find in other water bottles, because of the carton packaging, it also seems to stay cooler for longer because of it.

Did you know that for every Boxed Water photo you share on social media with the hashtag #ReTree, Boxed Water will plant two trees? Not only is this an excellent way to stay on track (we all know if we didn’t photograph it and share on Instagram, it never happens), it helps to give back to your environment while staying motivated to drink more. Boxed Water also donates 1% of their total sales to reforestation and One Forest Foundation programs annually.
