June 17th, 2013- Finding the perfect sunglasses

A lot goes into picking out our sunnies for summer, face shape, skin tone, hair colour, what/where we’re going to be wearing them; no wonder why we stand in front of the mirror for hours trying to find the perfect sunglasses.

If you’re lucky enough to have an oval face than any frame will look good on you, so experiment with the latest trends. If you have a round face you’ll want the appearance of a longer, thinner face and will want to create angles with a rectangular frame. Look for frames equal to or slightly wider than the broadest part of your face. If your face is square and consists of a strong jawline and broad forehead you’ll want to reduce your angles and draw attention away from it with soft, curvy styles that will give the face some definition; try a cat eye or round style glasses. Heart shaped face look amazing in aviators as it softens the lower portion of the face by accuniating
the eye area. And finally, if you have an oblong face like myself you don’t want your glasses to extend beyond the widest part of your face, you’ll want to widen and shorten your face so stick to round frames.

If you have fair skin like myself, try to stay away from bright coloured frames (although its tricky sometimes, I want them all) it will just wash you out; instead opt for a more neutral tone in brown, black, silver or gold. Medium skin tone ladies can have fun with rich, bold colours; try blues, purples and greens. Darker skin have free range when it comes to colours, I would stick with lighter colours though so they really pop on the face and become the focal point.

Of course, these are just some basic tips to helping you finding your perfect frames for summer; when it comes down to it, you want to pick the frames that you love and make you feel confident, comfortable and sexy!
