Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate Review

New Year, new foundation. I’ve been eyeing the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops for a while now, but have yet to pick it up. When I heard that the Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate has the same highly concentrated formula, but done in a foundation format, I knew I had to try it. This unique foundation promised to provide you with a full coverage, completely flawless finish that lasts up to 24 hours. It features a revolutionary oil-free formula that contains twice as much pigment as a leading full-coverage foundation, yet is still incredibly lightweight. It’s infused with innovated ingredients that cover all imperfections with spot-on perfection. It’s also enriched with patented golden pigments that’s wrapped in lecithin allowing it to blend effortlessly into the skin for a smooth, soft matte finish.

Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate comes in a fairly bulky and heavy, frosted glass bottle, that looks and feels very expensive. It has a unique round, dropper-like wand applicator that allows you to smoothly dab the foundation onto the skin, and then just blend out. Since this is a highly concentrated foundation, a little goes a long way. It’s incredibly rich and creamy texture conceals just about everything in a few single drops. Since the consistency is quite thick, it doesn’t glide onto the skin like other foundations do, and does require some buffing and blending to get a perfectly seamless, flawless finish. It does, however, have a beautiful soft matte finish, with almost a soft-focus effect that never looks flat or dull. It dries incredibly fast, so if you’re looking to layer, you’re going to want to move quickly. You can easily build up the coverage from a medium to full coverage without the fear of it looking too cakey. It dries to the touch within seconds and requires no setting powder. It stays put throughout the entire day without creasing, fading or oxidizing.

Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate truly is a “remarkable” foundation. I was blown away by the amount of coverage I could achieve with just a drop or two of this incredibly lightweight, fluidy, richly pigmented formula. It does a wonderful job at hiding all my imperfections, breakouts and hyperpigmentation without feeling like I have a ton of foundation on. Since I do have incredibly dry skin, I need to ensure I prep my skin with a good moisturizer and hydrating primer, otherwise it can accentuate my fine lines and cling to dry patches. If you have normal to oily skin, I’m sure you won’t have this problem, although you always run the risk with a full-coverage, matte foundation.

Although I don’t know if the Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate will wear for a solid 24 hours, like it claims, it definitely wears for the entire day. It will require a strong makeup remover/ cleansing oil to remove it at the end of the day. If you’re looking for that natural, skin-like finish, this isn’t the foundation for you, however, if you’re looking for a more dramatic, intense, high coverage, this is for you. It’s comfortable to wear without feeling tight or dry and does a wonderful job at hiding any imperfections I may be battling that day. It also helps to give an overall brightness to the skin with the tiniest amount.

Since I love a good full-coverage foundation, Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate has been my go-to for the past few weeks. I love that it looks as good at the end of the day as it did when I first applied it in the morning. It doesn’t transfer or stain my clothes, even if I don’t set it. Since it’s so concentrated, I found the best way to apply it was with the dropper, straight onto my skin, blend out with my fingers and then go in with my damp beauty blender to blend and buff into the skin. I think using your traditional buffing or foundation brush would soak up too much of the product, and therefore, waste more product than needed. It comes in a wide variety of 22 versatile shades, ensuring you find the perfect shade for your complexion. It retails for $69.
