How to wear Red, White And Blue

Let’s be honest, as much as I would love to spend my days lounging on the deck of a yacht, this isn’t an option for me. Just because this isn’t in our future, doesn’t mean Derek can’t look the part. When we hear the word nautical, we no longer think snooty, up-tight yacht club type and the culture that goes along with it, we just think, chic, neutral, classic colour scheme with no sailboat required. The trick to wearing red, white and blue without looking like an American flag is to pick a dominate colour and work around it. As you can see here, Derek’s bright, bold, electric blue shorts are the statement piece and what your eye is drawn to first. Instead of the traditional striped shirt, he went for a more laidback feel in a bold plaid print.
