OGX Coconut Curls Collection Review

OGX Coconut (1)

My love affair with OGX continues with their Coconut Curls collection. Although it’s intended for those with curly hair, and clearly I have pin straight hair, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the scent. It’s an island-inspired collection featuring a unique blend of coconut oils, sweet honey and citrus oils. This tropical escape helps to add lustre back into dry, dull hair for instant bounce and shine. It also helps to nourish strands, boost spirals and reduce fly-a-ways. If you’re looking for perfectly frizz-free curls this winter that smell as good as they look, this might be the collection for you.

OGX Coconut Curls Shampoo features a highly nourishing formula that quenches your curls and leaves them incredibly bouncy and frizz-free. Since I don’t actually have curly hair, I can’t say whether or not it helps define and tame waves, but I can say that it has an extremely moisturizing formula that’s perfect for long, dry winter months. It has a creamy, pearly white, almost gel-like texture that instantly cleanses the hair of all product buildup, dirt and oil. It comes to a decent lather with only the smallest amount of product and the tiny amount of water, and yet removes everything, even crusty, hard hairspray, without stripping it of its natural oils. It does a wonderful job at clarifying the hair leaving it feeling clean and pure. It also helps to retain moisture and even add a bit of hydration back into my dry, colour treated hair. After only a few short uses, my hair was feeling and looking softer. Both my ends and strands seemed to be shinier and healthier looking with the sweet, creamy, vanilla and coconut scent. It retails for $9.99 for 385ml.

The OGX Coconut Curls Conditioner on the other hand, has a slighter rich, thicker, even creamier consistency than the shampoo and is highly nourishing. It too has a gel-like texture that evenly applies throughout the hair, drenching in extreme moisture. It penetrates deep into the hair cuticles for added hydration, yet washes clean away. It doesn’t weight down the hair, even though it’s so conditioning, it just leaves it more manageable. It helps to detangle any knots, leaves it incredibly soft and smooth and with less frizz or fly-a-ways. It has a fresh and tropical scent that reminds me of a warm sunny day on the beach. It retails for $9.99 for 385ml.
OGX Coconut Curls Conditioner

Also in the collection is OGX Coconut Curls Curling Hair Butter. Clearly I can’t test this out, but it’s incredibly rich and creamy formula promises to help boost curls hydration. It can be used as a leave in treatment for extreme moisturizing benefits or rinsed out as a deep conditioner and an alternative to the conditioner. It retails for $9.99 for 187g.
