Paula’s Choice Blush It On Contour Palette
You may recall my previous post last month about my personal skincare routine with Paula’s Choice, but did you know this wonderful brand also carries cosmetics? I’ve been testing out two of their palettes and have fallen in love. The Paula’s Choice The Nude Mattes Eyeshadow Palette was designed in collaboration with popular YouTubers and makeup artist, Wayne Goss, and was create with 12 flattering shades designed to highlight your best features. The Paula’s Choice Blush It On Contour Palette on the other hand is all about the cheeks. It contains both contouring, highlighting and blush shades, allowing you to create an array of awakening and flawless complexion for both day and night.
Paula’s Choice The Nude Mattes Eyeshadow Palette is made from recyclable, fairly heavy cardboard and features a magnet closure and large mirror on the inside lid. It comes with a high quality thin and flat, domed shape synthetic hair brush, that allows for a seamless and flawless application. It contains incredibly soft, creamy and velvety shades that apply and blend like a dream. It features 12 neutral shades, from light to dark with a great mixture of both cool and warm tone nudes. 11 of the shades are completely matte, with a soft shimmer shade to add a little shine and act as the perfect highlight to any of the matte colours. Each shade is incredibly pigmented, the darker shades are more opaque than the lighter shades, but all 12 shades offer true colour payoff in a few easy swipes. The eyeshadows can also be used wet or dry, to provide an even more intense colour payoff. When paired with a primer, you can expect these shadows to stay in place for the entire day without budging, creasing or disappearing.
I love that although the Paula’s Choice The Nude Mattes Eyeshadow Palette is based around matte shades, they tossed in a universally wearable highlighting shade, so I don’t have to reach for other palettes to complete my look. It has a beautiful array of soft ivories to rich, intense browns and smoky blacks, making this an extremely versatile palette, taking me from day to night and everything in between. I also didn’t experience a lot of fallout, which you normally do with matte shades, these are just incredibly silky and smooth. I had no problem with these fading throughout the day, they were just as vibrant at the end of the day as in the morning. It includes cream, beige, pink sugar, café au lait, chestnut, clay, plum taupe, gunmetal grey, chocolate truffle, coffee and onyx. It retails for $40USD.
Paula’s Choice Blush It On Contour Palette also is made of fairly heavy cardboard and features a magnet closure and large mirror on the inside lid. It features a universal bronzer, a universal highlight shade and a variety of cool and warm tone blushes that are perfect for any complexion. The palette allows you to create an array of cheek looks for a modern, classic and slightly sexy look. It helps to add shape and soft dimension with its silky, creamy and smooth formula. Each shade is fairly pigmented, with pretty good colour payoff in a single swipe. Each rich and creamy texture applies evenly and smoothly for a flawless finish without looking patchy.
Paula’s Choice Blush It On Contour Palette is perfect for anyone looking to contour, highlight and sculpt the cheeks this summer. The silky bronzer is slightly warm, without looking orange, and has a subtle golden brown glow. The luminous highlight is also a slightly warm shade of ivory with a hint of opalescent pink to it. The 4 blush shades are a good mix of peachy-pinks, dusty rose, bright and summery pink and sheer rose-toned soft mauve to add a soft wash of enlivening colour to the cheeks. All 6 shades work beautifully together and the silky formula is just wonderful. It provides decent colour payoff, is easy to build and blend out and I experienced little to no fallout. Each shade seems to adhere to the skin, providing 10+ hours without fading. It includes Pearl, Bronze, Delicate Coral, Dusty Rose, Peony and Soft Mauve and retails for $36USD.
