Despite the fact I own an obscene amount of handbags, I have yet to own a classic, streamline tan purse. For someone who likes to mix up her purses from day to day, to try and take full advantage of her assortment, I was shocked to notice I don’t really have a basic brownish purse in my collection. I use a lot of different handbags when creating outfits for this fashion blog, and although I know a lot of women have their staple “everyday” bag and maybe only change it up every few months (or when it gets worn and damaged), I think it’s fun to create new looks at least a few times a week. I know it’s annoying to take everything in and out of your purse daily and I also know it’s a challenge on its own to create different outfits each morning, let alone fussing over which handbag goes with what outfit. That being said, a handbag can literary make or break an outfit, so besides functionality, make sure you invest in one that’s not only classic and will withstand the test of time, make sure it’s stylish too.
I know a lot of people reach for a solid black purse when shopping, thinking it will go with more outfits and be more versatile, but a simple brown handbag can actually be more flattering on more skin tones and can actually go with every single piece in your wardrobe. I know we all think black goes with everything, but what happens when you’re trying to match it with brown or navy… it doesn’t seem to work.
