All aboard, who’s ready to check out the new Quo Cosmetic Summer 2016 Collection with me? This limited edition collection sports a cute sailing theme and features 3 eyeshadow palettes, a bronzer, 2 lip oils, an eyeliner and a brush set. Designed with anchors, ropes and chains this sea-side collection features everything you need to create a fun nautical look this season.
Quo Summer Eyeshadow Palette comes in a mini, travel friendly compact with a full size mirror on the inside lid. It’s alongside 2 sponge brushes and 8 fairly pigmented, incredibly soft shadows. It features the perfect array of both matte, satin and shimmer shades in an assortment of nudes, smoky greys and rich purples and plums, depending on which colour selection you pick up. For the most part, each shade is fairly easy to work with, although it does require a little blending to create a seamless finish. When paired with a primer, you’ll have no problem with these staying in place all day without creasing or smudging. You will experience a little fallout with the darker shades, but nothing you can’t work with. These mini palettes are an excellent way to experiment with colours this season without breaking the bank. It retails for $18 in shades Lost at Sea, Sea Sun Sand and High Tide.
Quo Summer Eyeshadow Palette in High Tide features an array of greys, pinks, purples and plums.
Quo Summer Bronzer in Sunny Days comes in a large, oversize compact with 3 bronze and highlight shades within. I love that the stripes are actually large enough that I can dip my brush into each individual shade, without picking up other colours in the compact. Of course I can swirl my brush around the entire compact to create a lovely shimmery glow. It has a rich and creamy texture, applies seamlessly, blends out beautifully and with little to no fallout. Although not highly pigmented, you’ll really have to dig your brush into the product to pick up a ton of product, you can easily create a soft, iridescent shimmer to your complexion. It can either be worn on its own, or paired over your favourite makeup look to create a shimmery glow perfect for the summer. I think the bronzer shade on its own is too light to really bronze the face with, but it looks amazing paired with the other 2 highlight shades. It retails for $22.
Quo Summer Lip Oil is a lightweight, non-sticky, non-greasy lip oil that helps to not only prep the lip, but adds moisture and shine. It feels exactly like a weightless lip gloss, but goes beyond just adding a hint of colour to the lips, it actually helps to condition them. It features a doe-foot applicator for easy application and has a gel-like texture that’s easy to apply. It can be worn on its own to give a natural, high-gloss finish to the lips or paired over your favourite lippie for added shine. It does a wonderful job at keeping your lips moisturized throughout the day with a slight tint that is neither fussy nor hard to work with. It retails for $12 in shades 40 Knots and Set Sail (shown below).
Quo Precision Liquid Eye Liner in In the Navy features a fairly thin, fine tip applicator with firm bristles and a liquid formula that’s perfect for creating both thick and thin lines with precision. You can easily achieve that winged out look with an intensely rich and creamy navy finish. It sets and dries fairly quickly and although it doesn’t claim to be waterproof, it held up the entire day without flaking or smudging. It retails for $12.
Like all Quo Collections it comes alongside new Quo by Orly Nail Polishes. This season it features 4 limited edition shades in Pink Bikini, Coastal Cruisin’, Sun Daze and Purple Sunset and retail for $9.99 each.
