Thierry Mugler Angel Review

Thierry Mugler Angel Review

#BeAWareOfAngels

I was in high school when I first discovered Thierry Mugler Angel, and although fairly expensive for a teenager, it quickly became my signature scent. It’s a pretty complex scent, boosting over 20 different notes and its unique, iconic star shaped bottle, was light years ahead of its time. Over 20 years later, it’s still one of the more popular fragrances, ranked one of the top ten perfumes in the world, selling one refill every 7 seconds worldwide.

I have the Thierry Mugler Angel Star 25ml bottle with its flat shape design that was inspired by the bottle cap of the Star Collection. Its unofficial name is the “Nomad Star” because of its easy to carry, pocket size, and carry with you anywhere size. It has top notes of melon, coconut, mandarin, cassia, bergamot, jasmine, and cotton candy, heart notes of honey, apricot, blackberries, plum, orchid, peach, jasmine, lily of the valley, red berries, and rose and base notes of Tonka beans, amber, patchouli, white musk, vanilla, chocolate, and caramel. It retails for $98 for 25ml.

Thierry Mugler Angel is an extremely strong scent, that you’re either going to love or hate. It has an extreme sweetness to it, but since it contains so many ingredients it can be a little confusing and intimidating to some. It’s an extremely seductive, very sexy, bold, honest and highly attractive perfume. It has a lovely mixture of fruits and florals, but brings a sweet essence to its scent with honey, caramel, chocolate and vanilla. Each one of these individual scents are truly irresistible, but to me, I’m always getting a whiff of patchouli to help ground it. I find it to be a 4 season scent, like a bag of fresh caramel with a hint of cocoa powder in the winter and a fresh and florally scent in the heat of summer. It is also one of the only perfumes I own that can withstand the day and well into the evening. The scent will be as strong in the evening as it was in the morning, we’re talking 10+ hours at least.

If you’re a fan of Thierry Mugler Angel as much as I am, or a collector of pretty, limited edition packaging, Thierry Mugler released a new Angel The New Star Eau de Parfum. It has the same great scent, but an even more detailed, intriguing and unusual bottle design. It defies the laws of gravity, and true glassmaking skills were put to the test. The perfume is lightly tinted to match the slightly tinted blue bottle and features countless facets in a three dimensional, asymmetrical star design. This star belongs in the sky, which is why it doesn’t have a bottom, it can be placed on any of its facets. Of course, like most Thierry Mugler bottles, this one is refillable with eco-refills. It retails for $158 for 75ml.
