Dior Rouge Dior lipsticks have been some of my top lipsticks for years. Their luxurious formula not only provide full opaque coverage with a satiny finish, but keeps lips smooth and supple. Its unique formula helps smooth fine lines, re-plumps lips and increases depth thanks to its light reflecting particles. It has an extremely rich and creamy texture that glides onto the lips like butter. It’s comfortable to wear and does a wonderful job at keeping the lips hydrated and moisturized throughout the day. It’s pigmented, provides true colour payoff in a few swipes, and with a high gloss shine. Its bold and bright, vivid colour doesn’t fade, budge or smudge for a solid 6 hours, even with eating and drinking, which is why I love them so much. This season they’ve released 7 new shades, 3 of which are limited edition (Hollywood, Victoire and Soho), along with Paname, Miss, Times Square and Royale for $39 each.
Dior Rouge Dior in 310 Paname is a pale nude with just a hint of subtle shimmer, that almost goes unnoticed once applied, 359 Miss is a warm, almost rosy pink, 688 Hollywood is a bright and bold, neon pink and 760 Time Square is a beautiful rosy nude that would be the perfect “every day” colour.
Dior Rouge Dior in 808 Victoire is the perfect springtime pastel coral/ peach, 858 Royal is a rich coral red and 888 Soho is a stunning, hot fuchsia that just screams summer.
The new Dior Rouge Dior Brillant matches the new Dior Rouge Dior Couture Colour Voluptuous Care lipstick shades perfectly, enabling you to create duos of colour and light on your lips. We’ve all come to love Dior Rouge Brillant, it’s been around since the 80’s, but this season it comes with a new packaging, new applicator and a new and improved formula. It’s more than just a lipgloss, as it has the added benefits of a lip treatment with the colour and shine of a gloss. It’s formulated with three highly refractive treatment oils which contain vitamin E, known for its antioxidant benefits, along with lip plumping ingredients that reactivates collagen synthesis to leave lips feeling incredibly smooth and radiant.
Dior Rouge Dior Brillant is an ultra-fine, lightweight gloss that features a unique felt tip applicator with a tiny reservoir in the centre. It perfectly holds the right amount of product for easy application without any excess. Any extra gloss sinks right into the middle of the applicator, so you never have to worry about applying too much product. It covers both top and bottom lips in a single swipe, but you can also re-dip and go in with a second layer for more opaque coverage. It has a fairly thick, buttery, almost emollient consistency that feels slightly slick and slippery, allowing for an effortless application. It’s fairly pigmented and saturated in enough colour to provide full coverage in a single swipe or two. It has fine micro- shimmery throughout, that doesn’t look too sparkly or glittery on the lips, just a beautiful, radiant shine. It doesn’t settle into fine lines or bleed outside the lines, nor does it settle into the corners of the mouth. It stays put for a few hours, thanks to its long-wearing contour waxes that adheres to the lips for not only definition, but long-lasting staying power. It does come with Dior’s signature rose scent, although you can’t actually smell it once applied to the lips.
Dior Rouge Dior Brillant feels incredibly luxe on the lips without any stickiness. Although I didn’t experience any “pumping” effects, it does tingle a little upon first application like other plumping lipglosses. Because of its high shine and glossy effect, it does give the appearance of fuller, juicier, luscious lips. My lips felt extremely comfortable throughout the entire wear and actually felt way more hydrating and moisturized than other glosses. It also doesn’t feel sticky or tacky, nor does it give you that greasy or oily feeling like other lip treatments. Even with consistent eating and drinking, it lasted about 3 hours, which is longer than other gloss I’ve tried.
It comes in 12 new shades to provide each woman the chance to find her own perfect shade. Dior does recommend 4 “it” shades for 4 high-shine looks, and I have 3 out of the 4 to share with you (shade 999 not shown). Also be sure to check out shades, 263 Swan, 310 Paname, 359 Miss, 688 Hollywood, 760 Times Square, 766 Rose Harpers, 858 Royale, 888 Soho and 999 – 999 for $39 each.
Dior Rouge Dior Brillant in 468 Bonheur is a beautiful pale pink that will instantly put you in a good mood. It was a favourite shade of Mr. Dior himself as he believed that this colour not only made women more beautiful, but happier. I couldn’t agree more. Dior Rouge Dior Brillant in 808 Victoire is a soft, fresh coral inspired by his youngest fit-model and muse. It will bring her sassy, natural elegance to all young, stylish and modern women that wear it. Dior Rouge Dior Brillant in 775 Darling is a bright fuchsia pink that has a real femininity about it. It embodies the spirit of the evening dress it was named after, from the Spring/Summer 1948 Fashion Collection.
It wouldn’t be a collection without a few new limited edition Dior Vernis. Dior polishes are still some of my fave, can’t get enough of the wide, rounded brush that effortlessly coats each nail in a few swipes and provides an even, high shine finish. These are incredibly stunning and when the light catches the nail at a certain angle, it gives off the most beautiful shimmer. It is quick drying, gives a streak-free finish and is chip resistant for days. It comes in 4 limited edition shades along with a permanent shade for $28 each.
Dior Vernis in 499 Rose is a delicious soft pink with tiny gold micro shimmer throughout.
Dior Vernis in 599 Rose is a subtle peach with a pearly shimmer and a high gloss finish.
Dior Vernis in 899 Corail is a bright reddish coral crème with a glossy finish.
Dior Rouge Brillant Collection is currently already released at the Hudson’s Bay and will be at Dior counters nationwide on April 1, 2015.
